Craig Durrant, co-founder of Big D Builders, a construction company based in Meridian, Idaho, was involved in a tragic workplace accident on January 31, 2024. The incident occurred at the Boise Airport, where a hangar under construction for the Jackson Jet Center collapsed. Several workers had previously flagged concerns about structural issues, such as bending beams and snapped cables, but despite these warnings, the structure failed.
The collapse resulted in the deaths of three people, including Craig Durrant. The other victims were Mario Sontay Tzi, 32, and Mariano Coc Och, 24, both construction workers from Guatemala. Additionally, nine others were injured, with five in critical condition immediately after the accident.
